Salah satu tokoh pengasas pasukan Selbstopfereinsatz iaitu "bunuh diri" Nazi Jerman adalah Pilot wanita Jerman Hanna Reitsch. Di foto atas nampak dia sedang menerima pingat Eisernes Kreuz II klasse dari tangan Adolf Hitler, bulan Mac 1941. 35 Pilot semuanya. Ditugaskan untuk menghancurkan jalan2 yang diguna oleh pasukan Soviet.
