Terdapat beberapa perkhidmatan baru yang hadir akhir-akhir ini sebagai penganti kepada Google Reader. Terkini, salah satu pembaca RSS yang hadir dengan antaramuka dan paparan yang menarik adalah Kouio.

Kouio membolehkan para pengguna untuk mengimport data daripada Google Reader terus ke laman tersebut, dan mengikut langganan RSS mereka terus di laman tersebut.

Dari segi paparan, ia membawakan paparan yang amat cantik, dimana ia dipaparkan dalam tiga column, membolehkan pengguna melihat senarai langganan, topik-topik baru, dan juga membaca artikel sesuatu topik.

Perkhidmatan ini dikatakan akan dikenakan caj sebanyak $5 setahun. Tetapi, sebagai pengenalan, mereka menawarkan perkhidmatan tersebut selama percuma sepanjang bulan ini. Bagi mereka yang berminat, boleh mendaftarkan diri dan mencubanya sendiri hari ini.

Google Reader

Google Reader merupakan salah satu perkhidmatan pembaca RSS yang digunakan ramai pengguna seluruh dunia. Pengumuman pihak Google untuk menghentikan perkhidmatan tersebut esok – 1 Julai, telah membuatkan ramai yang beralih kepada beberapa perkhidmatan alternatif lain.

Feedly

Feedly telah hadir sebagai salah satu alternatif popular sejak pengumuman pihak Google tempoh hari. Feedly sebelum ini sedia mengintegrasikan sokongan Google Reader, dan dengan pihak Google yang akan menghentikannya, mereka telah pun beralih kepada pelayan sendiri, dibawah nama Feedly Cloud.

Disamping menyediakan aplikasi mudah-alih, Feedly juga turut sama kini menyediakan versi web, memudahkan pengguna untuk mengikuti pelbagai kemaskini semasa dengan mudah.

Digg Reader

Digg telah pun memperkenalkan perkhidmatan pembaca RSS mereka tersendiri pada minggu lepas, dinamakan sebagai Digg Reader. Melaluinya, ia membawakan paparan yang kemas dan ringkas, membawakan beberapa fungsi asas kepada pembaca RSS berkenaan.

Pihak Digg juga turut sama mengatakan mereka akan terus menambah pelbagai fungsi baru pada perkhidmatan mereka. Buat masa ini, selain versi web, pihak Digg juga turut menyediakan aplikasi iOS, dan akan memperkenalkan aplikasi Android dalam beberapa minggu lagi.

Mengakses RSS Pada Desktop

Selain daripada berasaskan web, pihak pengguna yang berminat juga turut sama boleh mengikuti pelbagai kemaskini semasa RSS terus daripada desktop. Untuk pengguna Windows, terdapat perisian seperti FeedRoller dan juga FeedNotifier. Untuk pengguna Mac pula terdapat Monotony, selain FeedNotifier yang turut disediakan untuk platform tersebut. Pengguna Linux juga terdapat beberapa pilihan, dan salah satunya adalah Liferea.

Mengakses RSS Pada Peranti Mudah-Alih

Kebanyakkan perkhidmatan sedia menawarkan aplikasi mudah-alih mereka untuk pengguna peranti mudah-alih. Perkara ini sedia dilakukan oleh pihak Feedly, disamping Digg juga turut menawarkan Digg Reader untuk iOS buat masa ini.

Disamping itu, beberapa perkhidmatan turut sama menyediakan sokongan untuk mengimport langganan RSS daripada Google Reader, dimana salah satunya adalah Flipboard.

Lain-lain

Selain daripada kesemua ini, beberapa laporan turut mengatakan pihak Facebook turut sama akan hadir dengan sebuah perkhidmatan dinamakan sebagai Facebook Reader. Bagi mereka yang masih inginkan produk Google, mungkin boleh menggunakan satu lagi produk mereka yang memfokuskan kepada pembacaan, dinamakan sebagai Google Currents.

Google Storage (Email + Documents + Photos) = 15G Free






Kenapa semua orang perlu ada Cloud Storage? Google panggil Google Drive. Sebahagian maksudnya, dokumen yang sedang dikerjakan, contoh assignment, berada di atas kepala kita (di Cloud Storage). Walau ke mana anda pergi, dokumen itu boleh berada di peranti elektronik anda yang boleh membuat capaian ke internet, contoh, SmartPhone, Laptop. Tiada alasan tertinggal disket kat kereta, tercicir thumbdrive kat lab dan sebagainya. Alasan apa lagi, sebab dia sudah berada di depan dahi anda.

So, bagi yang belum ada Cloud Storage, first step adalah "Create email", dan saya mencadangkan gmail. Walaupun saya ada yahoo dan hotmail, gmail lebih sesuai dengan saya sejak 10 tahun dahulu. Dan banyak Cloud Storage yang boleh digunakan. Selain Google Drive, saya menggunkan copy.com. Daftar copy di sini.

gmail Keyboard shortcuts


Keyboard shortcuts help you save time by allowing you to never take your hands off the keyboard to use the mouse. You'll need a Standard 101/102-Key or Natural PS/2 Keyboard to use the shortcuts.

Tip: Press ? in Gmail to see a list of keyboard shortcuts.

Some keyboard shortcuts can be used immediately, and others need to be enabled before you can use them.

Shortcuts that are always turned on

These navigational and formatting shortcuts all work whether or not you've enabled the keyboard shortcuts setting.

Use arrow keys to view messages and start composing

While viewing your messages, use your keyboard's arrow keys to move your cursor to a conversation, label or the compose button. Press Enter to select.

Move between messages in a conversation

While viewing a conversation, use n and p to go the next and previous messages in a conversation thread. Hit Enter to open or collapse a message.

Navigate in compose

Use the following combinations of keys when you have compose windows or chats open.

Change "from" addressWhile composing, takes you to the From field to change your sending address. This shortcut only works if you have configured additional sending addresses.

Shortcuts that need to be turned on

Before you can use these keyboard shortcuts, you'll need to enable keyboard shortcuts in your settings:

  1. Click the gear icon  in the upper right, then select Settings.
  2. Find the "Keyboard shortcuts" section and select Keyboard shortcuts on.
  3. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

o or Enter OpenOpens your conversation. Also expands or collapses a message if you are in 'Conversation View.'
u Return to conversation listRefreshes your page and returns you to the inbox, or list of conversations.
e ArchiveArchive your conversation from any view.
m MuteArchives the conversation, and all future messages skip the Inbox unless sent or cc'd directly to you. Learn more.
x Select conversationAutomatically checks and selects a conversation so that you can archive, apply a label, or choose an action from the drop-down menu to apply to that conversation.
s Star a message or conversationAdds or removes a star to a message or conversation. Stars allow you to give a message or conversation a special status.
+ Mark as importantHelps Gmail learn what's important to you by marking misclassified messages. (Specific to Priority Inbox)
- Mark as unimportantHelps Gmail learn what's not important to you by marking misclassified messages. (Specific to Priority Inbox)
! Report spamMarks a message as spam and removes it from your conversation list.
r ReplyReplies to the message sender. Shift + r allows you to reply to a message in a new window. (Only applicable in 'Conversation View.')
a Reply allReplies to all message recipients. Shift + a allows you to reply to all message recipients in a new window. (Only applicable in 'Conversation View.')
f ForwardForwards a message. Shift + f allows you to forward a message in a new window. (Only applicable in 'Conversation View.')
Esc Escape from input fieldRemoves the cursor from your current input field.

Save draft Saves the current text as a draft when composing a message. Hold the Ctrl/⌘ key while pressing s and make sure your cursor is in one of the text fields -- either the composition pane, or any of the To, CC, BCC, or Subject fields -- when using this shortcut.

l LabelOpens the Labels menu to label a conversation.
